Rock the Block Literacy Conference is geared toward current educators who want to expand their capacity in literacy, math, and SEL instruction for maximum student growth. Rock the Block differs from other professional development series because we utilize educational experts who are currently teaching in real-life classrooms to lead the learning. We aim to ensure that teachers feel seen, heard, valued, and invested in, especially after such trying times in the educational climate over the past few years. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to implement in their classrooms, understand the theory behind best practice, and have a community of fellow educators for support.

What is the cost to attend?
$250 per attendee.
How do I register for my hotel room?

Hotel rooms will be reserved at Cambria Hotel Whiskey Row by I Would Rather Be Reading staff.

Rooms are reserved under double occupancy. Attendees can reserve individual rooms at an additional cost of $100 per night + tax.
Is I Would Rather Be Reading on the JCPS vendor list?
Yes, please use the contact form below to inquire about group registration for JCPS schools.
I Would like to present. Is I Would Rather Be Reading accepting PD proposals?
Yes, a PD proposal form will be released March 16th, 2022. All professional development proposals must be focused on SEL, Math, and Literacy topics for educators in k-5th grades.
All sessions must be 60 minutes in length.
Educators chosen to present will be paid a $125 stipend.
