Sojourn Church NTI CAMP

Thanks to the support of generous donors, I Would Rather Be Reading is opening the doors to an NTI Camp for JCPS students in the Jacobs Community.

Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade will be assisted with NTI classwork and provided extra curricular enrichment lessons. All CDC guidelines will be followed for social distancing.

NTI Camp Hours

Camp will operate from 9:00 a.m. - 3:30p.m. Tuesday - Thursday for the duration of NTI.

Families can choose to send their child/ren to the a.m. or p.m. session:

Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Children may arrive at the center as early as 8:45 a.m., but must be picked up promptly at 12:00 p.m. to ensure time for cleaning and lunch breaks between sessions. *Breakfast will be provided on site.

Afternoon Session: 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Children may arrive at the center at 12:30 p.m, pick up begins at 3:30 p.m.and all children must be picked up by 3:45 p.m. A snack will be provided, but students are asked to bring their own lunch.

During both sessions we focus on ensuring that students attend live sessions that take place during camp hours, and complete 2-3 daily assignments. If time permits, children who attend camp will receive additional developmentally-appropriate reading and math enrichment lessons.

Extracurricular Activities

To meet the needs of the whole child, the last thirty minutes of each day are reserved for extra curricular activities. Enrichment options such as lessons in drama, yoga, cooking, and physical health will be offered to all students attending NTI camp at no additional cost.

I Would Rather Be Reading is working with Evolve 502 and JCPS to provide breakfast and a snack.  Students must bring their own lunch.

Facts to Know

  • Students must bring a charged device, headphones or earbuds, and a mask everyday.

  • Staff will need access to each child's JCPS username and password to best assist students with NTI work.

  • NTI staff are able and willing to be directly connected to the child’s classroom teacher at the guardian’s request.

The cost to attend this camp is a $25 per month materials fee.
